NOMAD invades Vegas…

August 18th, 2009 No comments

NOMAD has been a busy man here in LA this past week. After rockin’ things and drawing in the likes of Demi Moore and Ashton Krutcher to our gallery for the opening of the big MODART show this past Friday, he has befriended the couple and ended up going to Las Vegas this past weekend with them in their private jet where he and Ashton got busy bombin’ the roof of Planet Hollywood. The escapeds even made it on People.com – check out their coverage here. On top of that Ashton also tweeted the escapades with “just tagged the roof of Planet Hollywood.” Crazy.

While in Vegas NOMAD also gambled alongside Bruce Willis and attended the exclusive 21st birthday party of Demi and Bruce’s daughter Rumer at the TAO Nightclub inside The Venetian.

For the past couple days NOMAD has been rubbin’ elbows with the Kutcher clan and spent yesterday painting the offices of Ashton’s Katalyst Films. I’ll aim to get some pictures of that posted here soon.

This weekend is the big Sunset Junction Street Fair, so if you are attending that action, be sure to swing by and check out the works from NOMAD along with the entire MODART group show including featured artist Mr. Jago.

‘Shag Swap Meet’ next month at BSFA…

Collectors and connoisseurs of Shag will have a chance purchase a cache of art, merchandise and ephemera spanning his entire career at the first ever ‘Shag Swapmeet’. Several important original works will be available for sale ranging from the bamboo-framed “The Perils of Trying Too Hard,” from 1998 to his signature triptych pictured above, “Departure Idlewild, Stopover Borneo, Arrival Ape City.” Numerous long out-of-print serigraphs, many dating pre-2004 will also be available for sale alongside a limited number of poly-bagged “Paintings by Shag” from the 2006 “Conspicuous Consumption” exhibition at BSFA. The ‘Shag Swapmeet’ will also feature signed casino chips, shot glasses, a very limited edition charm bracelet, bar stools, tiki decanters, mugs, toys, exclusive Disneyland Tiki Room purses, signed prints, discounted books, “Shag With a Twist” merchandise and ephemera and much more Shag Swag.

The swap meet starts at Noon on Saturday, September 12th, and is a cash and carry event. Don’t worry – credit cards are being taken too – just a catch phrase folks.

You should plan to show up early as we predict a huge turnout and brisk sales as the word is spreading that Shag has moved up the road west a bit to what he must view as greener pastures. Kudos to Billy for putting on this event in light of all that.

Get in touch with the gallery now, as word has it previews will be sent out Monday, September 7th.
