Juxtapoz interview Armsrock and Imminent Disaster

March 11th, 2010 Comments off

Sneak peek at their collaborative installation for 'Refuge'

Juxtapoz just posted a really nice in-depth interview with both Armsrock and Imminent Disaster that goes into great detail regarding the concept and vision behind ‘Refuge’ – opening this Friday at Thinkspace.

Excerpt:
In their upcoming, highly anticipated collaborative exhibition ‘Refuge’, Armsrock and Imminent Disaster dance with concrete and abstract manifestations of the term.

When suggesting that, perhaps Refuge is a call to political action, I was told quite the contrary. The show is not about raising awareness. “People are already aware” Imminent Disaster and Armsrock tell me.

Nor would they dream of being so bold as to offer solutions “as an urban designer or policymaker might”.

Exhibition run dates: March 12th – April 2nd, 2010

Opening Reception: Fri, March 12th 7-11PM

The digital preview for ‘Refuge’ is now ready – both delivered some amazing works for the show:

Lazarides to take over Beverly Hills starting this April

March 5th, 2010 Comments off

Lazarides out of the UK will be taking over Beverly Hills starting in April for a 4 month stretch, during which time they will be hosting 4 seperate exhibitions.

Lazarides is the gallery responsible for putting on the the monumental ‘Barely Legal’ exhibit from Banksy back in 2006 as well as the ‘Impure Idols’ show from Antony Micalleff that followed in 2007.

More information will become available as their first show nears. They are kicking things off in AMAZING style with David Choe‘s return to Los Angeles this April… a show that Choe is claiming will be his last for some time to come. A not to be missed event!

Check out more on Lazarides at: www.lazinc.com
