Dabs Myla team up with Augor, Craola, Trav, Witness, and Rime for a massive wall in Venice

May 30th, 2010 No comments

Dabs Myla recently teamed up with Augor, Craola, Trav, Witness, and Rime for a massive wall down in Venice. Dabs Myla have been on a roll lately and have more planned for the months ahead. Two of the nicest folks we’ve ever met and couldn’t be happier to see how much they’ve been out and getting up lately. Watch the streets!

Check out a full photo set of the above mural coming together here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thinkspace/sets/72157624044802021/

Look for Dabs Myla to return to Thinkspace this coming September. The show is already in motion and is based upon the duo’s recent visit to Japan. Can’t wait!!!

Brett Amory in his studio working on 'The Waiting Room'

The good folks over at Hi-Fructose recently visited the studio of Bay area artist Brett Amory as he finishes up on his upcoming solo show with us here at Thinkspace. ‘The Waiting Room’ will open on June 11th in the project room alongside Ekundayo‘s new solo show on view in the main gallery.

“Waiting. At a bus stop, in a line, at the DMV, it’s a pretty tedious thing, thank goodness we’ve got our iphones, books, kindles, and mp3 players… Amory, oddly enough, finds beauty in this most tedious of chores. He captures the moment, washes out the background and focuses on the Now. His work finds beauty in the banal, serenity in the soporific. With his debut solo quickly approaching at Culver City’s Thinkspace Gallery, this is one show we can’t wait for.” - Hi-Fructose
