Dabs Myla strike again as part of the LA Freewalls project

July 6th, 2010 Comments off

Australia dynamic duo Dabs Myla are the latest artists to join the LA Freewalls project in downtown Los Angeles. Their mural is on the corner of 7th and Mateo. This pair have just been on a tear as of late.

Look for Jet Set Graffiti to post a video soon of the mural coming together as well as a lil’ interview with Dabs & Myla. View some stills from the video coming together here.

The LA Freewalls is a special project of Lahoda Fine Arts and JetSet Graffiti. Over 50,000 sq. ft. of outdoor wall space has been set aside to make the largest street art gallery in the world in the downtown Los Angeles Art’s District. We’re excited that Dabs Myla have joined the prestigous lineup which already features the likes of Shepard Fairey, Saber, D*Face, Nomadé, Atlas, Asylm, Andy Rios, and others.

Word is that yet another new mural from the duo and Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins will be popping up around town soon. In between all this outdoor action, Dabs Myla are somehow finding time to work on their upcoming solo show taking place this September in Thinkspace‘s project room. Get excited people!

Yosuke Ueno and Dan-ah Kim digital previews / Juxtapoz post in-depth interview with Ueno

July 6th, 2010 Comments off

Yosuke Ueno 'Positive E. No. 4' - acrylic on canvas - 64x52"

As we prepare to open ‘Negative Never Again’ this Friday from Yosuke Ueno, the artist’s profile is at an all-time high. His work was recently included in the 2nd installment of The Animamix Biennial 2009-2010’ which opened simultaneously this past December at MoCA Taipei, MoCA Shanghai, the Guangdong Museum of Art (Guangzhou, China), and the Today Art Museum (Beijing, China). This special multi-museum exhibition just recently came down off view and provided massive exposure for his work which has helped to greatly raise his profile around the world.

Riding off this wave of international exposure Juxtapoz just posted an in-depth interview with Ueno:

Please drop me a line to contact@sourharvest.com if you’d like to speak for a piece or have any questions at all. The gallery is just buzzing with the good vibes his work gives off.

Dan-ah Kim 'Come With Me' - gouache on wood - 12x16"

The digital preview for Dan-ah Kim‘s second solo show with our gallery is now ready as well:

The amount of work in Dan-ah’s pieces has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. So much texture and depth, just beautiful.

Please come on out this Friday for the opening reception. We’ll be open late this Saturday too until 8PM.

Fri, July 9th 7-10PM with both artists in attendance

Dabs Myla and Ekundayo team up at Static Medium

July 5th, 2010 Comments off

Australian duo Dabs Myla recently teamed up with Ekundayo to collab on a sick mural out in Silver Lake on the backside of Static Medium‘s headquarters. Check out some pics of the mural coming together below.

Look for Dabs Myla to return to Thinkspace this September with a special show in our project room. The duo have a number of mural projects coming up between now and then and we hear there’s a special print addition coming soon from Static Medium, so keep your eyes peeled.

Ekundayo has been super active recently as well. His first major solo show in a few years just came down off view this past weekend and he’s also currently gearing up to invade the UK this October for a show alongside Morning Breath and Fernando Chamarelli at London Miles Gallery. Between now and then there are plans for more outside mural action too, so stay tuned.

Check out the works from Ekundayo‘s latest show here.

Keep tabs on Dabs Myla here and Ekundayo here.
