‘A Distressed Damsel’ by Tran Nguyen
Congrats to Thinkspace family member Tran Nguyen on her recent win at the Spectrum Fantastic Art Awards in Kansas City, Missouri on May 23rd.
The work ‘A Distressed Damsel’ (as seen above) earned Tran yet another gold award.
There is significance in both being nominated and in winning a Spectrum award. It serves as a recognition of achievement that is made even more significant when it comes from a jury of their peers.
This award winning piece from Tran is still available through Thinkpace Gallery. All of our currently available work from Tran can be viewed on our website.

The opening night of Yosuke Ueno’s ‘Beautiful Noise’ and Ariel DeAndre’s ‘Chasing the Current’ was filled with lots of familiar faces. Both artists’ work is inspired by the Japanese religion of Shinto that is based in details and appreciation of nature. Take some time to stroll about our gallery taking in the detail of these rich and beautiful paintings. Also don’t forget to catch up on our interviews with Yosuke Ueno and Ariel DeAndrea.
Both shows are on view till June 13th.
For more details please visit the Thinkspace Gallery website.
You can view all the photos from the opening reception on Flickr or Facebook.
Above photos and all opening night photography is by photographer Sam Graham.
We are here to bring you a Bumblebeelovesyou studio visit as we are all artistic voyeurs. His studio is a creative explosion of spray paint and the remnants of stencils extracted from a sharp exacto knife hang on the walls. Bringing his colorful and nostalgia filled art work indoors to our project room June 20, the opening reception will be filled with surprises. Please join us next Saturday from 6-9pm for #WhereWeBeelong.
Nonetheless, his works manage to convey a feeling of incorruptible buoyancy; a remembrance of light in the midst of unavoidable darkness. With an investment and awareness for social and environmental themes, his images remind us of the invaluable gift of beginnings, and the shared responsibility of ensuring continuity.
