One of our holy grail pieces is above. So stoked. We own a nice watercolor and graphite work on paper from Joe Sorren, but never thought we’d be lucky enough to own an original oil. We’ll be paying it off for a while, and sooo can’t wait to get it home and have it on our walls to enjoy every day. Going to be a magical day to say the very least once we get it home.
Also picked up a nice piece on paper recently from Spain’s Sam3 who is currently turning heads and rocking things over in Italy for the big FAME Fest. His line work is so strong and fluid, simple yet powerful.
On the ol’ collector radar: Upcoming shows from Masakatsu Sashie, Brendan Monroe, Eishi Takaoka, Esao Andrews (yeah, I’m SO picking one up from our show with the man) and Josh Keyes. Others are definitely on our radar, but those are the ones with major shows in the near future that we can’t wait to check out.
This past weekend photographer Kevin Knight came by our home to shoot us and our collection as part of a special series he’s working on featuring folks from the LA art scene in their creative spaces / home environments. He’s already shot over a dozen movers and shakers including some noteable collectors in our local area as well as other gallery owners. He’s starting to visit the studios of several prominent local artists as well. Look for all this hard work to materialize into a special show somewhere in LA soon. Once we get a few pics back from Kevin of his visit with us, I’ll be sure to post one or two here for all to check out.
Coming in October!
