Juxtapoz interview Hellbent, Adam Void, Ema, and Hargo in anticipation of ‘Street Art Saved My Life: 39 New York Stories’

To help introduce art lovers to some of the Street Artists in the upcoming show “Street Art Saved My Life: 39 New York Stories”, Thinkspace arranged to have Steven P. Harrington and Jaime Rojo of Brooklyn Street Art connect with a number of the artists in the exhibit so they could take part in the “Back Talk” interview series made popular by the good folks at Juxtapoz. Many thanks to Juxtapoz for running this series of interviews and to Steven and Jaime for all the hard work putting them together and for writing the beautiful introductory paragraphs that accompany each interview.

Rod Luff at Spoke Art this month / look for him in Beyond Eden

The work of Rod Luff

Our friends up at Spoke Art just opened their annual preview show, “A Taste of Things to Come.” The group show aims to give an introduction to the personality and taste of the gallery, while highlighting artists they find important and intriguing. This worldly and diverse group of painters and illustrators present their unique perspective while working within the new contemporary art genre.

Featuring works from: Handiedan (Netherlands), Nimit Malavia (Ottowa), Serge Gay Jr. (SF), Rod Luff (Sydney), Jonas Lofgren (Berlin), Casey Weldon (LA), Tim Doyle (Austin), Ron Ulicny (Portland) and Sam Wolfe Connelly (NYC).

Show on view through August 25th

Look for Spoke Art‘s traveling ‘Quentin vs. Coens’ exhibit to be featured at this October’s Beyond Eden. While there, also look for the work of Rod Luff (pictured above) to be featured with Thinkspace. This year’s Beyond Eden is really shaping up beautifully. More details announced soon.

Anthony Lister in Venice / ‘Street Art Saved My Life’ opens in one week!

Anthony Lister in Venice - © Patrick Iaconis

Anthony Lister has been in LA for the past week gifting us with some amazing street works around his recent show at HVW8. Everywhere from West Hollywood to Venice to downtown, Lister was busy during his brief stay. Coincidently enough his visit was just a couple weeks before our big show with the folks from Brooklyn Street Art that will feature his work.

In the week ahead watch for pieces popping up around the Venice area from the likes of Hellbent, El Sol 25, Adam Void, Creepy, Tip Toe, Gilf!, Hargo, Clown Soldier, Ludo and NohJColey. Look for pics to be posted in the coming week over at Brooklyn Street Art and here on Sour Harvest.

Be sure to also check out the wall Lister did in downtown LA as part of the ‘LA Freewalls Project’ over on BSA here.
