Artist A Day Features Josh Keyes & Rebekah Bogard

Artist A Day Front Page

It’s exciting to see two artists we’ve worked with this past year on the front page of Artist A Day. Currently, Rebekah Bogard‘s installation for Vitality & Verve in the Third Dimension is on view at the Long Beach Museum of Art. Josh Keyes, who we released a print with a few months ago in order to support Born Free USA, is a guest curator on the site. Explore his favorite artists by viewing his Artist A Day curator page here.

The opening celebration for Vitality & Verve: In The Third Dimension at the Long Beach Museum of Art presented in collaboration with POW! WOW! Long Beach and Thinkspace Gallery sold out of tickets and set the mood for the summer. Smiling faces, fascinated spectators, and passionate art enthusiasts explored Vitality & Verve: In The Third Dimension engaging with the artist and the art.

The public and museum members enjoyed a myriad of installations and murals created with various materials ranging from fiber, wood, plastics, acrylics, resins, cardboard, textiles, paints, ceramics, paper,  and reclaimed materials.  Last summer’s exhibition, Vitality & Verve : Transforming the Urban Landscape saw over 22,000 visitors during its run and we’re hoping this latest show beats that record.

LBMA Vitality and Verve In The Third Dimension

“Vitality & Verve: In The Third Dimension” at the Long Beach Museum of Art presented in collaboration with POW! WOW! Long Beach and Thinkspace Gallery opened to the public July 16th.  A selection of the best artists who have carved out a place for themselves within the mural and new contemporary art movement; were invited to transform the 8,000 sq ft space within the walls of the Long Beach Museum of Art. Creating site-specific installations, murals, and sculptural vignettes; the various artists used a plethora of materials to push their own artistic boundaries. Ariel DeAndrea’s paper cranes fly through the front part of the museum, while Ernest Zacharevic’s installation in collaboration with Martha Cooper transports you to the streets of New York.

The artists’ materials are as varied as their own artistic voices; using materials ranging from fiber, wood, plastics, acrylics, resins, cardboard, textiles, paints, ceramics, paper,  and reclaimed materials pushed their work into the third dimension.
