*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
thinkspace presents:
“ Lovely Abominations”
New paintings and an installation from Lesley Reppeteaux
Opening Reception: Friday, December 9th, 7PM-Midnight
Show Runs: December 9th – January 8th
Lesley Reppeteaux is down with the darker side of whimsy. Pouty-lipped creatures
with melancholy beauty permeate her work to create a peculiar world filled with
chimera and charm. She makes her living blending the worlds of literature and
fantasy to create a peculiar place she can call her own.
Born in Nova Scotia, she currently resides in Venice Beach (though rarely sees
the ocean due to the fact she’s cramped up painting in her studio all day).
With "Lovely Abominations" Lesley relishes in showcasing a bewitching
gathering of all the cloven-hoofed vixens that prance in her head.
For our back gallery Lesley has brought together a selection of artists whom
also share a fondness for alluring characters with stories and secrets to tell:
Robbie Bolick, Joe Vaux, Susie Ghahremani, Logan Hicks, Mel Kadel, Daryll Peirce,
Travis Millard, Tina Anderson, Jim Darling, Poor Al, Shaunna Peterson, L. Croskey,
Travis Chatham, Joshua Krause, Peat Shaulis, Jeana Sohn, Calef Brown, Michele
Waterman, Brooks Salzwedel, Bella Pilar, Jaime Zollars, Keith Noordzy, and Jacob
