*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*
thinkspace presents:
“Weightless” featuring an installation, collaboration and new works from Ekundayo and Isaac Pierro
Opening Reception: Friday, April 14th, 2006 from 7PM until Midnight
Show Runs: April 14th through May 6th, 2006
Thinkspace is pleased to present “Weightless”, an exhibition that brings together two of Los Angeles’ most talked about, up and coming young artists. While their style and technique vary, their color palate and vision bring the two together. With “Weightless”, the first major L.A. based exhibit for both, all will have a chance to marvel at what each is capable of when given the space and freedom to spread their wings and realize their full vision. Their installation promises to be one not to be missed.
Ekundayo bio / statement:
Ekundayo was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Los Angeles, CA three years ago to attend the Art Center College Of Design in Pasadena. His favorite colors are purple and green. Recently he has had a strange obsession with sea creatures, with many finding their way into his new series of paintings.
Ekundayo means “sorrow becomes joy”. A description most befitting of his artwork as well. Look for Ekundayo's engaging and powerful art to rise to the forefront of the underground Los Angeles scene in the coming year.
Isaac Pierro bio / statement:
Isaac Pierro is originally from Stockton, CA and relocated to the city of Angels in 2002. His artistic roots lay in graffiti, tattoo art and surrealism. Initially working with skin and ink, Isaac has been focusing his energy towards works on canvas and wood as of late, drawing inspiration from music, love, murder and spirituality.
Isaac has appeared in numerous shows across the U.S. Highlights include a recent two-man show with Brian Viveros at the Toyroom Gallery in Sacramento and several high profile group shows with both Gallery 1988 and Copro Nason. Isaac currently lives and works in Hollywood.
