‘LAX/PDX’ opens big at Together Gallery in Portland, OR

Fernando Chamarelli's piece for 'LAX/PDX' sets things off upon entry

I was up in Portland, OR last week with DABS MYLA for the setup and opening of ‘LAX/PDX’ – our curated exhibition that is currently being hosted by Together Gallery. The show took place during the big monthly ‘Last Thursday’ night out on Alberta Street and featured performances from two awesome live bands in the back courtyard. Many of the artists featured in the show were out to show their support including Katy Bisby (in from Chicago), Kelly Allen (in from SF), Gustavo Ponce (in from Seattle), Jesse Hotchkiss (up from LA), DABS MYLA (up from LA), and local exhibiting artists David Stein, Timothy Karpinski, Lesley Reppeteaux, and Jesse Reno. In addition to all the featured artists that were on hand, several others that live in the Portland area came out to support that I haven’t seen in sometime including the likes of Blaine Fontana, Joshua Clay, Ryan Bubnis, Tatiana Wills, Joe Shea, and Martin Ontiveros. Throughout the evening I was introduced to so many amazing people and discovered so many great new local artists…the place was just buzzin’ all night long and those in PDX were just loving the works on view. We’re already planning a return visit next summer… too much fun! THANK YOU PORTLAND!!!
