HowNosm’s ‘ACHTUNG!’ at Known Gallery

HowNosm have landed in LA again… and this time they have thrown down the gauntlet in a big way. ‘ACHTUNG!‘ opened last night at Known Gallery in Los Angeles and if you missed it, well… I feel bad for you.

For people who keep track of this, How and Nosm are the next big thing.– Carlo McCormick (curator and senior editor at Paper Magazine)

Check out a great feature on the twins in the new issue of Red Bull‘s free The Red Bulletin Magazine – also viewable online here: www.redbullusa.com/cs/Satellite/en_US/Article/Double-Vision-021243074508367

“Over the course of their recent murals, How & Nosm have woven together a loose yet consistent narrative world of sorts reflecting among other things the greed of man, the interplay between modern and traditional lifestyles, and an ecosystem under threat.” – DailyDujour.com

Whatever you do, get yourself to the end of Traction Ave in downtown LA to witness their massive mural “Heartship” in person (pictured above). Produced in collaboration with the LA Freewalls Project, the mural is a thing of majestic beauty.

The Perre twins don’t sleep and aim to do at least 200 murals every year the world over. The recent release of ‘How & Nosm: The Brazil Diaries’ from On The Run is a stunning documentation of their unyielding work ethic and their dominance on the streets of Brazil (a country the duo visit regularly only a few times each year, but still find themselves up on the streets more than the majority of the local artists that live there). Be sure to pick up a copy when you visit Known Gallery to check out ‘ACHTUNG!’ in person – the only way to really dig in and view their works.

HOW and NOSM down in Wynwood (Miami, FL)

HOW and NOSM just shot over new pics of a massive wall they recently completed down in Miami inside the Wynwood Walls Complex. The twins completed this monster in only four days! Look for big things from them this December down in Miami, but first watch for them this October in Los Angeles at Known Gallery.

Day 3 of DABS MYLA at work on their collaborative mural with HOW and NOSM

DABS MYLA are at work in downtown LA putting the final touches on their massive mural with HOW and NOSM (on 3rd Street near the big JR piece). The work is part of the ongoing LA Freewalls Project being put together by Jet Set Graffiti and promises to be one of the highlights of this astounding collection of outdoor works. The lineup is becoming a who’s who to say the very least. Look for add’l works from the likes of Aiko and others to join the streets of downtown LA over the next few days as we head into the opening of the big ‘Art In The Streets’ exhibition at MOCA.

We’ll post some shots of this beauty all finished up on Thursday – looks like tomorrow is crunch day to get this one all finished up. Definitely a treat for those to enjoy that will get to walk by this each day.

HOW and NOSM have been at work in downtown Los Angeles for the past 5 days pulling 12-14 hour days on a huge lift provided by JetSet Graffiti for their ongoing LA Freewalls Project. DABS MYLA got back into town last night and have joined the twins this morning. We’ll post some pics of that action here soon!
