Drew Merritt grew up on a farm in New Mexico where he was always creative and naturally artistically inclined, but it wasn’t until he moved to Los Angeles where he transitioned from being a person who can paint to a man striving to earn the title of an artist. Merritt was worked towards refining his technique and voice to create works that ultimately derive emotion from the viewer. He is interested in flaws, whether it be physical, emotional, or environmental, and paints realistic portraitures that tap into Merritt’s own exploration of empathy and relationships.
